Clive Waddington is a professional archaeologist, prehistorian, and manager with over 20 years professional experience across the heritage sector. He is the founder and managing director of Archaeological Research Services Ltd based in Derbyshire. He has contributed to the archaeology of the British Isles through a combination of flagship national projects including work at Howick, Low Hauxley, Fin Cop, Cheviot Quarry, and Willington Marina. He specialises in the Mesolithic and Neolithic periods with interests in, rock art, landscape, geoarchaeology, and coastal archaeology. He has published more than 50 peer-reviewed papers, books, and book-chapters as well as contributions to popular magazines. These include reports on excavations at Mercia Marina in the Derbyshire Archaeological Journal and Fin Cop in the Archaeological Journal. In 2010 he was part of the team that won the BAA’s Best Community Archaeology Project and in 2012 Current Archaeology's Best Research Project award.
