After five years as a Cataloguing Assistant at the Royal Collection, she spent two years as a Research Assistant at Partridge Fine Art, and then returned to the Royal Collection as Assistant Curator of Decorative Arts, attaining her present position as Curator of Decorative Arts. She is a Member of the Antique Plate Committee of the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths, and a Member of the Committee and of the Research and Publications Committee of the Silver Society. Sher has been responsible for a number of Royal Collection Exhibitions. She has had many publications in Catalogues, Journals and Books, and has delivered numerous lectures.
