Grounds for election

A former researcher for the Board of Celtic Studies, indexing Welsh poetry manuscripts, Graham Thomas later became Senior Assistant Archivist in the Department of Manuscripts and Records, at the National Library of Wales. An acknowledged scholar in the field of Welsh Medieval prose, he edited A Welsh Bestiary of Love, being a translation of Richart de Fornival's Bestiaire d'Amour' (Dublin, 1988); The Charters of the Abbey of Ystrad Marchell (Aberystwyth, 1997); and Bewnans Ke, the Life of St Kea: a critical edition with translation, with Nicholas Williams (Exeter, 2007). He has also contributed to innumerable academic journals, including Bulletin of the Board of Celtic Studies, Llên Cymru, Monmouthshire Antiquary, National Library of Wales Journal, Scottish Slavonic Review, Studia Celtica, and Welsh History Review. He is currently preparing a subject index to the Medieval and Post-Medieval Welsh prose texts in manuscripts.
