Dr Kate Bennett is the leading authority on the seventeenth-century antiquary John Aubrey, publishing an annotated critical edition of Brief Lives for OUP in 2015. She is a College Lecturer at Magdalen College, Oxford, having previously been Fellow and Tutor in English at Pembroke College, Cambridge, and a British Academy Junior Research Fellow at Christ Church, Oxford. She has published extensively on literary subjects, and is currently working on a scholarly biography of Aubrey, with a particular emphasis on his topographical writings and his circle.
