Grounds for election

Emma Slocombe is the National Trust's project curator for ‘Inspired by Knole’, a £19.5 million conservation and interpretation project. She has managed the delivery of the new Knole Conservation Management Plan and is leading research into the history of interiors and collections at Knole, currently focusing on the history of presentation of the picture and furniture collection. In parellel she is working on the life of Edward Sackville-West, author and journalist, whose private rooms will open to the public in 2016. She is particularly interested in costume and textiles, and has published on the history of the presentation of the 17th-century royal furniture at Knole in the Furniture History Society Journal (2014). Emma is the author of a number of other publications on paintings and textiles and is on the Advisory Board of an innovative project on the history of the twentieth-century British antiques trade, based at Leeds University.
