In addition to her current post at Durham, she is Joint Editor of Textile History. Previous posts include Monument Fellow, York Castle Museum (2010-12); Head of Studies & Research, Senior Lecturer then Reader & Programme Leader, MA Museums & Galleries, Textile Conservation Centre (1993-2009). With 30 years' experience in textiles, conservation and museology, her research interests cover the cultural significance of museums; the art, social practice and material culture of early modern English embroidery; and the X-radiography of textiles and dress as a tool for curation and conservation. Joint editor of Changing Views of Textile Conservation (2011) and co-author of the pioneering X-Radiography of Textiles, Dress and Related Objects (2007), her extensive list of publications also includes catalogues of the 17th century English needlework collections of Micheal & Elizabeth Feller (2011) and the Ashmolean Museum (2004). Guest curator of the Feller exhibition, The Eye of the Needle (2014).
