Grounds for election

Philippa Hoskin is a distinguished historian of the medieval Church whose work has concentrated on the use of administrative records to highlight the political and social developments in the Church, particularly at episcopal level. She is the general editor of the British Academy's internationally respected English Episcopal Acta series, and the editor or joint editor of volumes for the diocese of Chichester, Coventry and Lichfield, Durham, London and Worcester. Most recently (2015) she has produced a new edition of the administrative rolls of Robert Grosseteste, bishop of Lincoln. She is also general editor of the Canterbury and York Society.
