Grounds for election

Jill Whitelock is Head of Special Collections at Cambridge University Library, having previously held posts as Whipple Librarian at the Department of History and Philosophy of Science in Cambridge and Head of Rare Books at the UL. She has overseen many acquisitions and projects at the library, which have recently included the donation of the Montaigne Library of Gilbert de Botton, the purchase of the sixth-century Codex Zacynthius and the cataloguing of the Library’s incunabula. She was editor of the Transactions of the Cambridge Bibliographical Society from 2005 to 2014. Her research interests include Middle English literature and early English printing. She has curated major exhibitions on Dante and Montaigne, as well as the online exhibition "Printing the body: early illustrated medical books from the library of Sir Geoffrey Keynes". She is currently co-editing a volume celebrating the treasures of Cambridge University Library in its 600th anniversary year.
