Grounds for election

Seif is an outstanding teacher and communicator who brings antiquity to life. In Salisbury he planned, executed and managed the Magna Carta 2015 Exhibition and Programme, actively involving over 800 school children and training 105 guides. Over 156,000 visitors came to see the Magna Carta in the Cathedral, 60% of them from overseas. Previously he delivered and managed the Durham World Heritage site for Durham Cathedral and the University of Durham. He also redesigned the floodlighting of Durham Cathedral and Castle. Seif was a Lecturer in the Departments of Archaeology and Education at Durham University and a Member of the University's Cultural Strategy Committee. In Cairo he had been Senior Preservation Planner & Architectural Historian at the Aga Khan Trust and before that an archivist at the Getty Foundation at the American University in Cairo. Publications include 'Durham World Heritage Site' 2013 and 'Museums of Islamic Art & Public Engagement' 2010.
