Grounds for election

Dr Potts is an internationally recognized scholar of Etruscan art and archaeology. Since 2013 she has been associate professor at the University of Oxford, the inaugural appointee to the Sybille Haynes Lecturership in Etruscan and Italic Archaeology and Art. She is also Katherine and Leonard Woolley Fellow at Somerville College. She was previously temporary Lecturer in Roman Archaeology at King's College London. Among her publications, which focus principally on Italic architecture and religion, her greatest contribution is her 2015 OUP volume, Religious Architecture in Latium and Etruria, c.900-500 BC. This important analysis is the first comprehensive treatment of cult buildings in western central Italy from the Iron Age to the Archaic Period. Before studying classical archaeology, Dr Potts had a previous career in heritage and museum interpretation, working as a content-developer on numerous projects for museums, exhibitions, and visitor attractions in New Zealand and the UK.
