Grounds for election

Andy Bliss joined Sussex Police in 1982 progressed through the ranks to become the Chief Constable of Hertfordshire in 2011. In a police career spanning three decades, Andy has focused on tackling crime at a local, national and international level. In 2012, Andy was appointed as National Police Chiefs’ Council lead for Heritage and Cultural Property Crime. In this role, Andy has worked closely with the heritage and law enforcement partners to tackle criminality within the historic environment at home and abroad. In this time Andy's leadership has seen the publication of the National Strategic Threat Assessment for Heritage and Cultural Property Crime and inaugural Heritage and Cultural Property Crime Conference. Andy speaks French and is an active and passionate amateur archaeologist. Andy is a passionate champion and advocate for cultural heritage and he is committed to working to its preservation and conservation for this and future generations.
