Senior curator, Natl. Mus. Aust. Previously, curator, Natl. Lib Aust. Authority on Joseph Banks – a pioneering Fellow of the Society. Specialist on the discovery and social history of Australia, particularly the history of Canberra (eg. author and editor, ‘Glorious Days: Australia 1913.’). Curated 10 public exhibitions; preparing for a major exhibition to commemorate the 250th anniversary of HMB Endeavour’s voyage and the 200th anniversary of Banks’ death. Collaborated with several British institutions including the Royal Society, British Library, British Museum Print Room, Welcome Institute Library, and the National Archives. Active in conference and workshop organisation and participation: (eg. Forthcoming invited paper: ‘Banks, image making and representation,’ The National Portrait Galley workshop January 2017.) About 35 articles and many archival exhibition catalogues published. Current Interests include 18th century portraiture and satirical images.
