Grounds for election
Dr Appleby is a specialist in European later prehistory and human osteology, with a particular interest on Bronze Age mortuary practices, ageing and mobility, on which she has published extensively. She has undertaken fieldwork in Britain and several other areas of the world including Cape Verde, Mauritius and Vietnam. Dr Appleby was a member of the team involved in the excavation of Richard III and subsequent study of his remains.
