Grounds for election

Dr Duncan Wright specialises in the archaeology of medieval settlement, landscape and conflict. In addition to the single-authored volume Middle Saxon Settlement and Society, Duncan’s research has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals such as Landscapes and Medieval Archaeology. He was Project Officer on the Leverhulme-funded project ‘Anarchy? War and Status in 12th-century Landscapes of Conflict’, during which he led a series of detailed geophysical and topographic surveys of twelfth-century sites across England. Dr Wright is lead author on a number of the project’s publications, including an article in Landscape History, and is co-author (alongside Professor Oliver Creighton) of the leading monograph, due to be released in winter 2016 by Liverpool University Press. Duncan is Director of the Lincoln Archaeology Field School which is currently investigating the medieval settlement landscape of Harpswell, Lincolnshire. He is editor of the journal Church Archaeology.
