Grounds for election

Geoff Browell is Head of Archives Services at King’s College London. He is a pioneer in the innovative use of archives for academic and public users, including Serving Soldier, a digitisation programme and website of 30,000 documents relating to servicemen and their families. His unique contribution to the field includes‘Navigating Nightingale’, a phone app walking tour using historical records of the life of Florence Nightingale in 19th century London. He has managed the Archives in London and the M25 (AIM25) service since their inception, now with 1 million hits per month. He sits on several committees of the Wellcome Trust, is currently chair of the Health Archives and Records Group, is a member of the Higher Education Archives Partnership, and is on the UK Archives Discovery network. His publications include articles and book chapters on the innovative use of archives in the modern world.
