Grounds for election

Dr Wessman is currently University Lecturer in Museology at the University of Helsinki. Between 2012 and 2015 I was PI in the project Levänluhta – a multidisciplinary research into a unique mystery in Northern European prehistory funded by the Emil Aaltonen Foundation. She is editor of Finskt Museum, the oldest antiquarian journal in Finland. In the past she taught archaeology at the Universities of Helsinki and Turku and also Tartu (Estonia). She has supervised many undergraduate theses. Her academic work consists of over 14 peer-reviewed articles in journals and books and over 30 popular articles. Her research interests lie in Burial archaeology, Iron Age studies, Museology and Community archaeology. In her prior work at the Espoo City Museum (2011-2015) responsibilities covered archaeological field work, exhibition planning and PR. She also initiated collaboration with local metal detectorists and was awarded for this by the Finnish Metal Detecting Association in 2015.
