Grounds for election

Dr Stout's first job bore fruit in her first book Archaeological Survey of the barony of Ikerrin (1984). She subsequently co-directed the Sites and Monuments Record Office in Dublin and has worked as an archaeologist in the National Monuments Service since 1992. She has published articles and books relating to the Bend of the Boyne including a guide to Newgrange (2008) and Newgrange and the Bend of the Boyne (2002). Her research interests have also included the legacy of the Cistercians in the Irish landscape, on which she has published a number of articles. Most recently, with Matthew Stout, she directed a research excavation, the results of which have been published in 2016 as a book - The Bective Abbey Project, Co. Meath: Excavations 2009-2012. She has lectured widely and has served on the committee of a number of societies such as the Irish Agricultural History Society (secretary) and the County Louth Archaeological and Historical Society (vice-president).
