Grounds for election

Dr Wilkinson is an authority on ancient Egypt in the widest sense. Having taken the Predynastic-Early Dynastic transition for the topic of his PhD thesis (spv. Prof. B. Kemp), his researches and publications have since encompassed an extraordinarily wide range of ancient Egyptian themes. He has published a dozen books, made almost a score of contributions to Edited Volumes, published a dozen scholarly articles and fifteen review-articles. His media contributions include both television and radio. He has been a Junior Research Fellow of Christ's College and is a Fellow of Clare College, Cambridge (since 2003), where he formerly served as its founding Director of Development.
