Grounds for election

Dr Mark S Anderson is an expert in African archaeology and in digital education. A graduate in Archaeology at Reading (1998), he went on to study for two masters courses at Oxford, in Professional Archaeology (2000) and Education (2012). Between these he completed a PhD at the University of Cape Town, SA, on pre-colonial urbanism focusing on the Tswani town of Marothodi. He also ran a successful field school, and developed an archaeological/ educational company, Attikam, on his return to the UK. His monograph: Marothodi, the Historical Archaeology of an African Capital was published in 2013. He has also published a series of articles, reports and book chapters on the themes of African archaeology and digital education. Dr Anderson is currently a Senior Lecturer in Learning and Teaching at the University of Greenwich, and is also a tutor at Oxford University Department for Continuing Education. He is a field director for the Wadla Research Project, Ethiopia, based at SOAS.
