She is a historian of English Romanesque architecture and sculpture, with a particular focus on Kent. Formal training via a Certificate in Medieval Archaeology at Canterbury Christ Church University; MA in Medieval & Tudor Studies at the University of Kent. Various publications, notably her book (written with Howard Jones), Norman Churches in the Canterbury Diocese (The History Press, 2009), with foreword by Eric Fernie; contributions to the final volume of the Kent History Project, Early Medieval Kent (2016): ‘The Impact of Anglo-Norman Patronage on the Architecture of Kent Churches’ and (with Paul Bennett) ‘Canterbury in the Eleventh Century, a Tale of Two Viking Incursions’. She helped set up the Corpus of Romanesque Sculpture in Kent, and was Treasurer of the main CRSBI Project Board until 2016, when she became a Trustee of the newly constituted CRSBI. She has been a member of the Kent Archaeological Society Council (2006-12), and has chaired the KAS Churches Committee since 2010.
