Grounds for election

Roy has worked in the heritage sector for the past two decades, initially in heritage interpretation but latterly with the Church Commissioners and, since 2007, English Heritage. During this time he has made significant contributions to the conservation and interpretation of historic buildings. Roy was a Casework Officer with the Advisory Board for Redundant Churches. He is now a Senior Properties Curator with English Heritage and advises on the conservation management of some of the most important sites and monuments in the southeast of England, including Battle Abbey, Dover Castle to Osborne House. He is responsible for advising on the acceptability of proposals for alterations to English Heritage properties, overseeing applications for statutory consents, undertaking and commissioning primary research, including archaeological investigation and intrusive fabric analysis, and for writing and procuring heritage statements and conservation plans.
