Grounds for election

Dr Morris is a leading scholar in Aegean Bronze Age archaeology. Her research is underpinned by an interest in the cognitive aspects of past societies and the need to develop robust methodologies and theoretical frameworks to explore areas, such as art and religion, which present an particular interpretative challenge in prehistoric periods. Her research interests/publications span ceramic studies; art and religion; historiography and reception of Minoan Crete; digital approaches to archaeology. Significant publications include Ancient Goddesses (ed. with L. Goodison, 1998 British Museum Press) and The Archaeology of Spiritualities (ed. with K. Rountree, A. Peatfield, 2012 Springer, One World Archaeology). Dr Morris has played a key role in the establishment and development of a new research Institute, the Irish Institute of Hellenic Studies at Athens, as the Trinity College Dublin representative since 2001 and as Chair (2001-6).
