Grounds for election
Joe has extensive knowledge of the archaeology of the east and SE. He has worked as a commercial archaeologist since 1998. His current position is with Headland Archaeology (UK) Ltd, where he is Regional Manager (since 2011). His principal roles are quality control of fieldwork & publication, and business development. He is Deputy Project Director for archaeology on the Thames Tideway Tunnel (MOLA/Headland joint venture). He has published articles on Neolithic, Iron Age, Roman, Medieval and post-Medieval sites. He has also written about the application of Sales within commercial archaeology and the use of 'soft-skills' to improve annual review processes within archaeological companies. His key archaeological interest is the Iron Age to Roman period in the east of England. The increase in examples of rural settlement, tracks and special sites of various kinds has significantly increased our knowledge of this period. Joe hopes to continue contributing to this area of research.
