Grounds for election

Andrew Ziminski is a Cathedral and Museum trained conservator of stone and plasterwork. He is a member of the Wiltshire Archaeological and Natural History Society and the Frome Tunnels group. Andrew has held a lifetime’s interest in archaeology and built heritage, assisting excavations along the South Downs from the age of 11. His formal training began at the Weald and Downland Museum. Andrew went on to conserve the tower and spire of Salisbury Cathedral before establishing Minerva Stone Conservation in 1992. In 1998, he was awarded a William Morris Craft Fellowship by the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings. He has worked on many important buildings over the last thirty years including the 15th century fan vaulting at Sherborne Abbey, Dorset; Slavery abolitionist Granville Sharpe’s tomb at All Saints, Fulham; the Gorgon pediment at the Roman baths, Bath; the vaulting beneath the Lady chapel floor of Bristol Cathedral; and many medieval bridges and churches.
