Grounds for election

Delia Gaze, an independent editor of academic books on the history of art, studied architectural history at the Courtauld Institute under Prof. Peter Kidson. In 1986 she joined the editorial team of the Grove Dictionary of Art, specialising in medieval Europe, and was also a contributor. She has been assistant editor of the Journal of the British Archaeological Association and Research Assistant of the Corpus of Romanesque Sculpture in Britain & Ireland, a British Academy project. As a freelance editor, she has worked for the Royal Collection, V&A, English Heritage, Soane Museum, Yale UP and Burlington Magazine. Described by the Library Journal as ‘Incomparably rich’, her Dictionary of Women Artists (1997; concise edn 2011), a commissioned project, gained an Award for Excellence from Reference Review. Editor of choice for a generation of scholars, Delia Gaze has edited books for several Fellows, including Prof. Peter Draper (2005), Dr John Goodall (2010) and Prof. Lindy Grant (2016).
