Reverend Nicholas Schofield is Archivist of the Archdiocese of Westminster, whose collections are recognized as of international importance, containing major sequences of papers from the Reformation until the restoration of the Hierarchy in 1850, and the official and personal papers of Archbishops of Westminster since that time. The Archive also holds an interesting collection of religious artefacts. Since his appointment in 2005 Nicholas Schofield has revitalized the Archive, introducing online cataloguing and overseeing important acquisitions, including the papers of Cardinal Manning. He has written widely on religious history. His publications include 'William Lockhart, First Fruits of the Oxford Movement' (2011) and 'The History of St Edmund's College' (2013). He is also co-author with Gerard Skinner of 'The English Cardinals' (2007) and 'The English Vicars Apostolic 1688-1850' (2009), and since 2010 has written a weekly column on ecclesiastical history for the 'Catholic Times'.
