Grounds for election

As Rosalinde and Arthur Gilbert Curator, Heike Zech has developed the Gilbert Collections’ international profile. For the V&A/Wallace Collection in 2010 she planned the conference Going for Gold on Gold Boxes, with proceedings published by Sussex Academic Press, 2014 followed by Gold Boxes, V&A Publishing, 2015. Her engagement with mosaics has resulted in Mosaics of St Paul’s Cathedral, Scala, 2015 and an online catalogue. Heike curated exhibitions of silver and gold boxes at Los Angeles County Museum of Art; Kunsthalle Würth, Schwäbisch Hall; the LiangYi Museum, Hong Kong and the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge. She has worked on the Gilberts as collectors; has organized and contributed to conferences internationally, and has published in Andamento, Antique Metalware, Apollo, Burlington Magazine, and Silver Studies. Since 2011, Heike has served as V&A Restitution Officer.
