Debbie has worked in heritage for over 25 years with particular expertise in Oxford heritage as Director of Oxford Preservation Trust 1999 onwards. She has pioneered understanding of the Oxford Views and ‘Assessment of the Oxford View Cones' (2015) contains a methodology for understanding views and assessing change. She has experience in restoration and re-use of historic buildings, including Oxford Castle, the Jewellery Quarter and Back to Backs (now National Trust) in Birmingham, and also runs one of the largest Heritage Open Days. She is Chair of the Historic Chapels Trust and was formerly Chair Historic Towns Forum 2009-13; Churches Conservation Trust Trustee; Oxfordshire Historic Churches Trust; RICS Conservation Judge 2002 -12; HLF SE Committee 2001-6; Chair UK Association of Preservation Trusts 1996 - 2001 In 1993 she gained her MSc in Historic Conservation Oxford Brookes University (1993) with distinction and in 2013 was awarded an OBE for services to Heritage
