Grounds for election

Dr. Lucy Blue is a highly respected scholar in archaeology. She is a senior lecturer in the Department of Archaeology at the University of Southampton and Southampton Maritime and Marine Institute Theme leader. In 2016 she was appointed as the new Maritime-Archaeological Director of the Honor Frost Foundation. Blue’s primary areas of research have focused on the Greco-Roman harbours and lake-side settlements around the shores of Lake Mareotis, Alexandria, the Roman and later Islamic port site of Quseir al-Qadim on the Red Sea coast of Egypt), and the Roman port of Adulis, Eritrea. She has a substantial publication record of papers in international journals, book chapters and published conference proceedings. She is on the editorial board of the Journal for Maritime Archaeology (JMA) and the International Journal for Nautical Archaeology (IJNA). She currently a Vice President (and former President) of the Nautical Archaeology Society (NAS).
