Grounds for election

Has expertise in field of historic buildings, especially brickwork and fixtures and fittings, and wallpapers. Long-term research project on historic staircases. Has worked at HRP for 15 years, and projects include the Kew Representation project, the Royal Kitchens, Kensington Palace and the Pagoda. The first resulted in the production of the Illustrated history of Kew Palace. He has published a number of articles including Cromwell’s inventory of Hampton Court (about foreign craftsmen at the court of Henry VIII in a Danish book on court culture outside the Habsburg and Valois courts) and on Queen Mary’s porcelain for an Austrian publication on East Asian luxury products.
