Mark J R Dennis has been Curator at the Library and Museum of Freemasonry in London since 1999. He has published chapters in books and catalogues and designed and curated numerous exhibitions examining the material culture of freemasonry. These have been at various venues in the UK and Europe. He was previously the first Curator of the HM Customs and Excise Museum (1987-91), where he designed displays nationally including long term exhibitions at Gravesend and Greenock and was later responsible for co-ordination of work on the department's historic estate nationally including drafting of the annual report to ministers. He is Chair of the Central London Historic Collections Group since 2012 and Trustee of the Covent Garden Area Trust since 2015. He has an MA in Heritage Management and is registered for a PhD at the University of Bristol.
