Grounds for election

Andrew is a Reader in medieval economic history at the University of Roehampton, where he currently directs the British Academy Hearth Tax Project and Centre for Hearth Tax Research. In this capacity he has overseen the publication of six county hearth tax editions, the introduction of online publication of hearth tax data, and a range of outreach work. Since 1992 he has held research and teaching posts at universities in London, Manchester and Oxford, as well as being an academic visitor at several universities. He has published several articles and edited books on medieval economic and ecclesiastical history and, while previously based at the Institute of Historical Research, was jointly responsible for the completion of the Victoria County History of Cambridgeshire series. His experience, breadth of interests and publication record well qualify him for election to the fellowship of the society.
