Grounds for election

Assoc Professor Graeme Warren is a specialist in the archaeology of hunter-gatherers and the adoption of agriculture, with an especial focus on NW Europe, particularly Britain and Ireland. He has published widely on the Mesolithic and Mesolithic-Neolithic in Europe including books, edited books, journal papers and chapters in books and is widely cited. His work was significant in developing new approaches to the Mesolithic. He directs two major fieldwork campaigns at present. The first is an international investigation of the hunter-gatherer use of the Cairngorm mountains of Scotland. The second is a long term investigation of the settlement of the valley of Glendalough, Co. Wicklow. He is co-editor (2016-)of Hunter Gatherer Research; the Journal of the International Society of Hunter Gatherer Research. He is currently Head of the UCD School of Archaeology (2016-). Since arriving in UCD School of Archaeology in 2002 Graeme has led a cluster of PhDs and Post-Doctoral researchers.
