Grounds for election

Simon is Senior Lecturer in Biological Anthropology at Oxford Brookes University. He specialises in prehistory and human evolution and especially how human’s relationship with disease in the past has shaped our evolution. He has directed fieldwork projects across the world, including South America and the Middle East, published both academic and popular works, and is strongly committed to science education and communication. Simon has appeared in many radio and television programmes, discussing aspects of archaeology (especially prehistory) and has written for the Guardian on a number of contemporary issues in archaeology. He is a member of council of the Royal Anthropological Institute and was Vice President between 2012-15. He is currently Chair of the Society for the Study of Human Biology, a member of the QAA Anthropology subject bench-marking panel and a Research Associate of the School of Anthropology and Museum Ethnography at the University of Oxford.
