Grounds for election

Dr. Johnson (née Gentry) has divided her efforts between academic archaeology and cultural heritage impact assessment. Her main field of research is the study of Roman auxiliary forts in Britain and Germany, with publications including: (1983) Roman Forts of the 1st and 2nd centuries AD in Britain and the German Provinces, Adam & Charles Black, London, and (1987) Römische Kastelle, Verlag Philipp Von Zabern, Mainz am Rhein. She was project manager for geophysical survey company, Oxford Archaeotechnics, for over 20 years and she has extensive experience in archaeological research and consultancy across the UK. Her very significant contribution to the grey literature (including Environmental Statements and evidence at Public Inquiry) has comprised not only the application of her Roman period competence but also in-depth analyses of archaeological and historical context, which have often resulted in new and important insight. She is a Member of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists.
