County Editor of Victoria County History of Oxfordshire since 1996. Exceptional record in writing, researching and editing for the VCH, and a leading figure in historical and building studies in Oxfordshire. Editor of five VCH volumes, and of Oxoniensia (journal of the Oxfordshire Architectural and Historical Society) 1990-96. Contributor to the Society of Antiquaries Kelmscott Landscape project, 1999-2007 and to William Morris’s Kelmscott: Landscape and History (2007). Author of Henley-on-Thames: town, trade and river (2009). A founder of the Oxfordshire Buildings Record. Member of History Faculty, Oxford University.
