Has published widely on Elizabethan Court history. Editor of 'The Elizabethan New Year’s Gift Exchanges, 1559-1603' (2013), a transcription of 25 extant vellum rolls that describe the participants, gifts & other details of the Elizabethan New Year’s gift exchange, plus biographical information on participants, catalogues of gifts given, & a chapter on the organization of the Court. Coeditor with Arthur Kinney of 'Titled Elizabethans: A Directory of Elizabethan Court, State and Church Officers, 1558-1603' (2014). The original (published by Kinney 40 years ago) was a reference source to the Elizabethan court, state, & household. In this revised & expanded edition, Lawson tripled the content, adding new categories plus an index, & many previously overlooked figures, especially women.
