Grounds for election

Dr William Megarry is an archaeologist and geospatial technology specialist of distinction, who works in archaeological and heritage applications of GIS and remote sensing at an international level. Currently Lecturer in Archaeology at Queen’s University Belfast, Megarry was Government of Ireland/ Marie Sk?odowska Curie international outgoing Fellow at the Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore. He is a member of ICOMOS Ireland and an expert member of the International Scientific Committee on Archaeological Heritage Management. Actively engaged on several projects he is exploring the application of geospatial technologies to world heritage management in Greece, Peru, Ireland, Romania, North Africa and the United Kingdom. He has authored numerous journal articles, book chapters and conference proceedings and his current fieldwork in the Shetland Islands is exploring the production and distribution of Neolithic stone tools.
