Dr Peter Gould holds degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and Swarthmore College and obtained his PhD from the Institute of Archaeology, UCL., in 2013. His economic background allowed him to develop a thesis for sustainable projects related to tourism of sites in Peru, Belize and Ireland. He is Consulting Scholar at the Penn Cultural Heritage Centre, Adjunct Professor of Archaeology, American University of Rome; Partner in Dig Ventures Ltd. Edited Archaeology and Economic Development (with Burtenshaw), Vol.13 of the journal Public Archaeology Nos. 1-3. He had an extensive career in business and non-profit management, chief executive of businesses in the United States and in Europe. Senior staff member to the President’s Council of Economic Advisers and Deputy Assistant Secretary for Export Development in the U.S. Department of Commerce. On Boards in Philadelphia, Chairman of the Zoological Society of Philadelphia. Director of the Sustainable Preservation Initiative.
