Grounds for election

Edward Town has worked on numerous research projects in the fields of early modern art and architectural history. He has been employed at the Yale Center for British Art since May 2014, as a postdoctoral research associate and now as Assistant Curator & Head of Information and Access. 2011-14 he was a postdoctoral research assistant at the NPG, working for the ‘Making Art in Tudor Britain’ project. He was one of the editors of the resulting publication Painting in Britain 1500-1630, which won a Historians of British Art award in 2015. He has published numerous articles in a wide variety of books and journals. He was Tutor at UCL (2010-11) where he created and ran an undergraduate course 'Architecture & Evidence in Tudor & Stuart London'. Member of Architectural Research Committee, Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre; Chair of Sub-committee for Decorations. 2011-14 Seminar Secretary for Society for Court Studies and Co-Convener of the conference ‘Gifts and Perquisites’, held at Knole in 2013.
