Grounds for election
John Morgan-Guy has made a contribution to a number of fields. He has focused on religious history, the history of medicine and the history of art. In addition to dozens of articles in learned journals, he is best known for his Diocese of Llandaff in 1763, (South Wales Record Society 1991); The Visual Culture of Wales (2003) and Imaging the Bible in Wales (2008) –a product of a Leverhulme fellowship. His work on medical history earned him a fellowship of the Royal Society of Medicine. He has edited a number of journals and books, including the Journal of Welsh Ecclesiastical History (subsequently the Journal of Welsh Religious History) and the Journal of Religious History, Literature and Culture. Among the books he has edited are Religion, Identity and Conflict in Britain from the Restoration to the Twentieth Century (2013); Religion and Society in the Diocese of St Davids 1485-2011 (2015). He Vice-President, Octavia Hill Society & a trustee of The Friends of Friendless Churches.
