Grounds for election

Has significantly contributed to the study of medieval material culture in the Nordic countries, and the history of archaeology and cultural heritage management, and analysed the impact of Finnish settlers on 17th-century North America. Monographs- "Golden moments – Artefacts of precious metals as products of luxury consumption in Finland c. 1200–1600" (2009); "The history of the National Board of Antiquities in Finland" (2016). Over 170 articles in various journals-Antiquity, Journal of Social Archaeology, Norwegian Archaeological Review, Public Archaeology and Scandinavian Studies. Has contributed to international conferences and lectured extensively in archaeology, art history and theology for the Universities of Helsinki and Turku.
