Grounds for election

Graham Barker studied Law at Durham University graduating in 1980. He recently completed his MA in Classics and Ancient History at Warwick University. He is a Council Member of the Royal Numismatic Society and has published papers on the coinage of the Emperor Carausius in the Numismatic Chronicle and the British Museum Magazine. His thesis ‘Legitimation of Power: the iconography of the Golden Age myth on Roman imperial coinage of the third century AD’ has been published by Warwick University (2016). He is a Patron of the British Museum and has supported the Portable Antiquities Scheme and the Department of Coins and Medals. He is a member of the Company of Art Scholars and a founding member of the Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Arts Scholars. He is also a supporter of the Donmar Warehouse and the Royal Opera House and is a Board member of the National Theatre Foundation where he is chairperson of the Individual Giving Committee.
