Grounds for election

Dr English has been involved in archaeology for over 40 years, initially as a volunteer whilst working in medical research, but since 2003 in a professional capacity. Her primary specialisms lie with landscape archaeology and survey, but she also directs excavations. She teaches archaeology in the adult education sector and has done previously in higher education. She was recently on the Council of the Prehistoric Society and is currently on the Council for the Surrey Archaeological Society, of which she is a vice-president, on the committee of CBA South-East for which she edits the newsletter, and on the committee of the Wealden Iron Research Group of which she was formerly secretary. She has published extensively on the archaeology and history of Surrey, and most significantly on field systems of the 2nd and early 1st millennia in southern Britain, the subject of her doctoral thesis at the University of Sussex.
