Grounds for election

Dr Newman is a Curator of Archaeology at English Heritage. She gained her BA (Hons) Ancient History and Archaeology from the University of Leicester in 2006. She has an MA in Buildings Archaeology from the University of York (2007), where she was also awarded her PhD in Archaeology in 2010. Charlotte’s doctoral research on the archaeology of the workhouse and the public welfare institution has been published in Post-Medieval Archaeology, and International Journal of Historical Archaeology, as well as in several book chapters. She has worked in professional heritage at a national level since 2011, first at the National Trust, and at English Heritage since 2012. In her role as Curator, she has worked and published on the Architectural Studies Collection (in the Journal of Victorian Culture) and the Jewel Tower, and is currently managing the collection at Kirby Hall. She has also represented English Heritage and the Wrest Park Collection on social media, including Google Culture.
