Grounds for election

Diane is expert in archaeology and planning within London and the South-East. She has worked since 1997 as a field archaeologist, an education officer, a County Archaeologist, and an Archaeology and Listing Adviser for English Heritage. She acts as Archaeology Adviser on behalf of many Local Planning Authorities across Greater London including the City of Westminster since 2004. She has secured the protection, publication and management of very significant archaeological remains during development-led fieldwork, such as: sections of London’s medieval river wall at Arundel Great Court and Black Rods’s Garden, Palace of Westminster; St Martin in the Fields; London Transport Museum’s Saxon cemetery; the Queen’s Chapel of the Savoy and its medieval and later remains; St Marylebone School post-medieval cemetery, and the Westminster Triforium Project. She has particular expertise in post-medieval cemeteries and on advising on sites within the internationally significant Saxon Lundenwic.
