Katie’s research has focused on the analysis of early medieval populations from Wales and the Isle of Man, having undertaken the first isotopic studies of populations from western Britain including the monastic cemetery of Llandough. Katie has a particular interest in childhood, focusing on the involvement of children in the process of early medieval migration. She is currently the Membership Secretary for the Society for the Study of Childhood in the Past. Since 2015, Katie has been the co-director of the St Patrick’s Chapel Excavation Project, which is a collaborative research project with Dyfed Archaeological Trust and focuses on the site’s early medieval cemetery.
