Dr Colin Haydon was until retirement Reader in History at the University of Winchester. He is a historian of religion in Britain in the eighteenth century and has written widely on attitudes to Catholics in the century as well as works on religion in the later eighteenth century. He is engaged in research for a major work on Warwickshire in the period. His work is widely cited. He has served on the councils of the Historical Association and of the British Records Association. He was deputy editor of Archives, the journal of the BRA.
