Grounds for election
Penny Wallis works to foster knowledge and enthusiasm for medieval culture. She is a respected self-employed Art Historian / Historian lecturing in Medieval Art for various institutions: inc. Extra-Mural depts. of Universities of London, Surrey, Southampton; WEA; BM, BL, V&A; she also lectures to History of Art societies and at exhibitions, e.g ‘Age of Chivalry’, RA and ‘Let there be Light’, BL. Papers to BAA; Ecumenical Society of the Blessed Virgin Mary. She was formerly education officer for the British Library at the British Museum site. From 2001 to date she has been running a tutorial group offering visits in England & abroad and courses on medieval art and architecture. She is a field-worker for CRSBI (Dorset). Publications include: ‘London, Londoners and Opus Anglicanum’ in BAA Conference Trans 1984; ‘Ein mitteralterliches englishes Kirchengewand im Textilmuseum St Gallen’ in Textilkunst 1984; ‘The Embroidered Binding of the Felbrigg Psalter’ in BL Journal 1987
