Grounds for election

He is the Senior Archaeological Consultant, Southwest Region, The National Trust. He has had over 40 years' experience in UK field archaeology of all periods, historic buildings research and landscape studies, and in their publication. Since 1982 this has been principally in Wessex, including Corfe Castle and Kingston Lacy. He has directed the long-term programme at Chedworth Roman Villa from its beginning, and his success in fostering public understanding of the work is an important part of his contribution.
